Eight days in, and you've officially entered Week 2.

I know, the days are getting slightly longer, but your resolve should be getting stronger.

Let's make this day a day of seeking forgiveness and spiritual renewal.

Translation

We have entered a new day and with it all dominion belongs to Allah. Praise is to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion, to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over everything. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good that follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.

Significance

Eight days in, and the struggle with laziness becomes real. Your body is tired. Your mind is distracted. But this dua is your reset button. You're asking Allah to protect you from the very thing that could destroy your Ramadanโ€”laziness. Don't let fatigue become an excuse. Ask Allah for strength, and He will give it to you.

Translation

O Allah, on this day, have mercy on me by keeping me away from sins forever, as long as You keep me alive. Have mercy on me by keeping me away from things that do not concern me. Grant me the ability to see what pleases You, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Significance

This is one of the most powerful duas for personal transformation. You're asking Allah for three things: First, to keep you away from sins permanentlyโ€”not just during Ramadan, but for the rest of your life. Second, to protect you from wasting time on things that don't matter. Third, to give you spiritual insightโ€”the ability to recognize what pleases Him and to act on it. This is a dua for long-term change, not just temporary improvement. Say it like your future depends on itโ€”because it does.

Today's Goal

Begin Juz 3, starting from Surah Al-Baqarah around verse 253, moving toward the end of the Surah.

These verses talk about Allah's power, His signs, and the importance of spending in His way.

You'll also encounter the famous Ayat al-Kursi again (if you haven't memorized it yet, now's the time), and the powerful closing verses of Surah Al-Baqarah.

When you reach the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286), slow down.

These verses are so powerful that the Prophet ๏ทบ said, "Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will be sufficient for him."

Sufficient for what?

Protection from harm, spiritual strength, and peace of heart. Recite them before you sleep tonight.

Your Specific Task: The "100 Istighfar Challenge"

Today's focus is on seeking forgiveness—constantly, sincerely, and abundantly.

Your Task: Say Astaghfirullah (ุฃูŽุณู’ุชูŽุบู’ููุฑู ุงู„ู„ู‡ูŽ) at least 100 times today.

You can use the simple version:

Or the fuller version:

Or Sayyidul Istighfar (the Master of Seeking Forgiveness):

Why?

The Prophet ๏ทบ said, "By Allah, I seek Allah's forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day."

If the Prophet—who was sinless—sought forgiveness that much, where does that leave us?

Istighfar isn't just about wiping away sins.

It's also a way to invite Allah's mercy, provision, and blessings into your life.

Allah says in the Quran, "Seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn to Him in repentance. He will grant you a good provision for an appointed term and give to every doer of good his reward" (Hud 11:3).

So say it throughout the day.

While commuting. While working. While waiting. While resting.

Never stop seeking His forgiveness.

The "Golden Hour" (The 15 Minutes Before Iftar)

This is your daily appointment with Allah. Don't miss it.

A Little Brotherly/Sisterly Advice for Day 8

Shaytan has a trick he loves to use on sincere believers.

He makes you think your sins are too big. Too many. Too shameful.

He whispers, "You've messed up too much. Allah won't forgive you. You're too far gone."

And if you believe that lie, you stop seeking forgiveness.

You stop trying. You stop praying. You give up.

But here's the truth that Shaytan doesn't want you to know: Allah's mercy is bigger than every sin you've ever committed. Combined. Multiplied. Infinitely.

Allah says in the Quran, "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful'" (Zumar 39:53).

Read that again. All sins. Not some. Not most. All.

So no matter what you've done—how many times you've fallen, how deep you've sunk, how ashamed you feel—turn back to Allah.

Say Astaghfirullah with sincerity, and watch how He opens doors you thought were permanently closed.

Your past doesn't define you. Your return to Allah does.

Did you start your 100 Istighfar yet? Don't wait. Start now. Your Lord is waiting to forgive you.

See you tomorrow for Day 9, where we'll talk about the power of silence and guarding your speech.
