Morning Dua for Steadfastness

Translation

O Allah, O Turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast upon Your religion.

Significance

This powerful dua (from Tirmidhi) was frequently made by the Prophet ๏ทบ.
Why?
Because our hearts are constantly fluctuating. One day you're full of Iman, the next day you're struggling. One moment you're motivated, the next you're distracted. Allah is Al-Muqallib (The Turner of Hearts)โ€”He controls every heartbeat, every emotion, every change.
So you're asking Him to lock your heart onto His path and keep it there. This is especially critical in Ramadan when Shaytan is chained but your own nafs (ego) is still fighting you. Say this dua every morning and feel your heart stabilize.

02

Dua for Seeking the Best Outcome

Translation

O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, I seek Your power through Your ability, and I ask You from Your immense bounty

Significance

This is part of the famous Istikhara dua (from Sahih al-Bukhari), but you can say this portion as a general morning supplication.
You're acknowledging three things: Allah knows what you don't know, Allah can do what you can't do, and Allah has blessings you can't even imagine.
When you start your day with this mindsetโ€”complete dependence on Allah's knowledge, power, and generosityโ€”you stop stressing about outcomes.
You trust that whatever happens is what's best.

Translation

O Allah, on this day, grant me compatibility with the righteous, keep me away from the company of the wicked, and shelter me by Your mercy in the Abode of Eternity, by Your divinity, O God of all the worlds.

Significance

This dua is about alignment and protection.
You're asking Allah to surround you with righteous peopleโ€”those who remind you of Him, who inspire you to be better, who lift you up when you're down.
And you're asking Him to keep you far from toxic peopleโ€”those who drag you into sin, gossip, negativity, and distraction.
The Prophet ๏ทบ said, "A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends." Your circle determines your character.
Choose wisely.
And ask Allah to choose for you.

What to Read: Continuing Through Juz 5

Continue reading Juz 5, focusing on Surah An-Nisa, particularly the verses about justice in dealing with orphans, women's rights, and social equity.

These verses are a reality check.

Islam isn't just about personal piety—it's about how you treat the vulnerable.

The orphans. The widows. The oppressed. The weak.

Allah is watching how you use your power, your wealth, and your influence.

When you read the verse, "Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a Blaze" (4:10), let it shake you.

Allah is saying that if you exploit the weak, you're literally eating fire.

Now ask yourself: how do I treat people who can't fight back? How do I treat those who have no power over me?

Your answer reveals your true character.

Tip: Remember that the physical hunger is just a tool for disciplining the soul, not just the stomach.

02) Your Specific Task: The "Circle Audit"

Take 15 minutes and write down the names of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

Then, for each person, answer these questions:

  1. Does this person bring me closer to Allah or pull me away?
  2. Do they encourage me to be better or make me comfortable with mediocrity?
  3. Do they remind me of the Hereafter or distract me with the Dunya?
  4. Would I want to be standing next to them on Judgment Day?

Why?

Because, the Prophet ๏ทบ said,

"The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of a seller of musk and a blacksmith. The seller of musk will either give you some perfume, or you will buy some from him, or at least you will enjoy a pleasant smell. As for the blacksmith, either he will burn your clothes, or you will smell a bad odor."

Your friends either perfume you or burn you.

There's no neutral.

If someone is consistently pulling you away from Allah—even if they're "fun" or "cool" or family—you need to create distance. Not out of arrogance, but out of self-preservation.

And if someone is lifting you up spiritually, hold onto them.

Cherish them. Invest in that friendship.

After you finish your audit, make dua for the righteous people in your life.

Ask Allah to increase your bond with them.

And for the toxic ones, ask Allah to either guide them or create healthy distance.

03) The "Golden Hour" (The 15 Minutes Before Iftar)

This is your daily meeting with the King of all Kings. Come prepared.

Your Day 16 Dua List:

And make a deeply personal dua.

Something specific.

Something that's been weighing on your heart. Allah is listening.

A Little Brotherly/Sisterly Advice for Day 16

Remember, some of your "friends" are destroying your Akhirah.

Not intentionally. Not maliciously. But their lifestyle, their values, their conversations—they're slowly pulling you away from Allah.

And you don't even realize it because it's gradual.

You hang out with people who joke about haram things, and slowly, you stop seeing them as haram.

You spend time with people who never pray, and slowly, you start delaying your own prayers.

You surround yourself with people who chase Dunya, and slowly, you forget about Jannah.

The Quran warns you about this:

"And [mention] the Day when the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] and say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance [of Allah] after it had come to me'" (Al-Furqan 25:27-29).

On Judgment Day, people will regret the friends they kept. The ones who made sin look normal. The ones who laughed at their devotion. The ones who distracted them from Allah.

Don't let that be you.

I'm not saying cut off everyone who sins—we all sin.

But there's a difference between someone who sins and repents, and someone who sins and celebrates.

There's a difference between someone who struggles but keeps trying, and someone who mocks you for trying.

Protect your circle. Protect your Iman.

And if you have to walk alone for a while to stay on the right path, that's better than walking with a crowd toward Jahannam.

The Prophet ๏ทบ said, "A person will be with those whom he loves."

So ask yourself: who do you love? And where will that love take you?

See you tomorrow for Day 17.

Tomorrow we'll talk about the power of consistency and how small daily actions lead to massive transformation.

You're more than halfway through Ramadan. The finish line is getting closer. Keep your head down and keep moving forward.
