Assalamu Alaikum.
So we finally made it.
The moon has been sighted, the first Suhoor is over, and you are officially standing on the soil of the most beautiful month of the year.
Day 01
Wednesday, February 18, 2026
If you’re feeling a mix of "I’m so excited" and "I hope I can do this," don't worry—that’s exactly how you’re supposed to feel.
Lets start our first day in Ramadan, we will list down what we have to do throughout the day, what duas to read and what we must avaoid.
Read These In The Morning: After Fajr
Translation
Meaning:
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Significance
Recite the Aytul Kursi once and the second dua twice. You will get protection for the entire day.
This Is The Main Dua For First Day
Translation
Meaning:
O Allah, make my fast in it (this month) the fast of those who [truly] fast, and my standing (in prayer) in it the standing of those who [truly] stand. Awaken me in it from the sleep of the heedless, and forgive me my sins in it, O God of the worlds, and pardon me, O One who pardons the sinners.
Significance
The main benefit of this is that it helps you focus on quality rather than quantity right at the start of Ramadan.
Instead of just starving yourself or physically standing for prayer without thinking, this Dua asks God to give you the "real" experience of worship where your heart and mind are fully engaged.
It reminds you to wake up from being "heedless," which simply means snapping out of a lazy or distracted state where you might forget what is truly important in life. By reciting this, you are acknowledging that you want to be alert and spiritually alive, rather than just going through the motions.
Finally, it brings you peace of mind by admitting that you are human and make mistakes, but you are asking the One who loves to forgive to wipe those slate clean.
1) What to Read: Starting the Journey
Today, we start Juz 1.
If you can read the whole Juz, that’s amazing.
But if you’re busy with work or kids, don't beat yourself up.
-
Focus: Try to read the first few pages of Surah Al-Baqarah.
-
The Vibe: This Surah talks about guidance. As you read, ask Allah to make this month a guide for the rest of your year.
2) Your Specific Task: The "Kind Tongue" Challenge
On Day 1, we often focus so much on our stomachs that we forget our mouths.
Our "Day 1 Task" is simple: No complaining.
When the thirst kicks in or someone cuts you off in traffic, just breathe. Don't let a single negative word come out.
If you can control your tongue when you're hungry, you can control your life when you're full.
3) The "Golden Hour" (The 15 Minutes Before Iftar)
This is it. The most powerful moment of your day.
Don't spend these 15 minutes just staring at the fried food or the dates.
Sit down, away from the kitchen noise if you can, and make your Dua.
Your Day 1 Dua List:
-
Ask for forgiveness for everything that happened since last Ramadan.
-
Ask for the strength to finish all 30 days with a sincere heart.
-
Pray for the people in the world who don't have a meal to break their fast with.
A Little Brotherly/Sisterly Advice for 1st Day in Ramadan
The first day is often the hardest because your body is "rebooting." If you feel tired or less productive at work, don’t beat yourself up.
You are adjusting.
Allah sees the effort in your struggle more than He sees the "perfection" in your schedule.
Get some rest tonight after Taraweeh. I'll see you tomorrow for Day 2, where we’ll talk about how to keep this momentum going!
Did you finish your Morning Adhkar yet? If not, go do them now—I'm waiting! 🤍
