The evil eye (العين) is not superstition in Islam.
It is real, dangerous, and explicitly confirmed by the Prophet ﷺ.
Many harms that reach a person — physical, emotional, financial, or sudden misfortune — can occur through the evil eye by Allah’s decree.
Islam does not leave the believer exposed.
The Prophet ﷺ taught powerful morning adhkar specifically meant to protect from unseen harm, including envy and the evil eye.
Morning adhkar is one of the strongest daily shields against it.
The Strongest Morning Adhkar for Evil Eye Protection
Here are the list of morning adhkar for protection from the evil eye.
Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ, Al-Falaq, An-Nās (3 times)

Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
2nd Qul:
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of whatever He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies."
3rd Qul:
Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer—who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind—from among the jinn and mankind.
Significance
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Recite Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad and the two Mu‘awwidhatayn three times in the morning and evening; they will suffice you from everything.” — (Tirmidhi 3575 – Hasan Sahih)
Surah Al-Falaq specifically includes:
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.”
This directly targets evil eye.
Ayat al-Kursi: The Greatest Protection

It protects from:
* Shayṭān
* Harm
* Envy
* Evil eye indirectly through divine guarding.
The Prophet’s Prayer for Protection
Translation
"I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous creature, and from every envious evil eye."
Significance
This is a specific and direct protection against the evil eye (Ayn).
Our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge for his grandsons Hasan and Husayn with these words, stating that their forefather Ibrahim used them for his sons.
Thats why this is highly recommended to recite this once or three times every morning.
The Shield Against All Harm
Translation
"In the Name of Allah, who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing."
Significance
This Dhikr is a "lock" on your safety. If said with conviction, nothing in the heavens or earth can harm you.
Recite it 3 times daily.
It creates a barrier between you and the negative energy of those who might look at you with envy or malice.
Reliance on Allah (Hasbiya Allah)
Translation
Meaning: "Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."
Significance
Envy often targets one’s peace of mind.
This verse refocuses your heart on Allah’s sufficiency.
Recite 7 times everyday.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said that whoever says this seven times in the morning, Allah will take care of whatever worries them in this world and the next.
Surah Al-Fatihah (The Opener/The Ruqyah)
Translation
Meaning:
"In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. It is You we worship and You we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray."
Significance
It is the "Mother of the Book."
The Prophet (ﷺ) approved of this Surah being used as a Ruqyah (healing/protection prayer).
Reciting it with the intention of protection (Shifa and Hifz) is a powerful way to start your day.
The Evil Eye Is Real (Authentic Proof)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The evil eye is real.”
— (Sahih al-Bukhari 5740, Sahih Muslim 2187)
He ﷺ also said: "وَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابَقَ الْقَدَرَ لَسَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ"
“If anything were to overtake divine decree, it would be the evil eye.” — (Sahih Muslim 2188)
This shows that it's very powerful, it causes real harm, it affects believers and non-believers alike.
And most importantly, protection is mendatory.
Why These Adhkar Work Against Evil Eye
Islamic protection works in two ways:
- Seeking refuge from Allah before harm occurs
- Strengthening the unseen barrier around the believer
Evil eye harms by Allah’s permission.
Adhkar seeks Allah’s protection before permission is granted.
It is like closing the door before danger enters.
Remember, Daily Protection Is Stronger Than Occasional Ruqyah
Many Muslims search for cures after they feel affected.
But the Prophet ﷺ emphasized:
- daily protection
- morning remembrance
- seeking refuge regularly
Morning adhkar is a preventive shield, not a reaction.
